]]> Sustainable development and environmental protection are Europe’s priorities and core values that span its legal system. The recently adopted EU Green Deal Strategy reflects Union’s commitment to these values by setting out an ambitious plan to transform Europe into a sustainable and competitive economy, turning environmental challenges into opportunities. To help realise this goal, EU competition law is called on to more actively play its part in facilitating Europe’s green transition – how to respond to that call is a live and pressing issue that we will take up during these seminars.

Our seminar series brings together leading academics, policy-makers, regulators, and practitioners to offer various perspectives – ranging from law to environmental science to economics – on how competition law and policy should contribute to making Europe greener and more sustainable. Organised by the 3E (Environment, Economy & Energy) Research Centre of the Brussels School of Governance, Vienna University of Economics and Business (Competition Law and Digitalization Group), and Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP, the series consists in four virtual seminars running between June and December 2021.
