Big Data and the 2025 ABA Antitrust Spring Meeting

At the 2025 ABA Antitrust Spring Meeting in Washington, DC (2 to 4 April 2025), Vicky Robertson discussed the implications of big data from the perspective of EU competition law. She addressed the competitive significance of big data and big analytics, the CJEU’s ruling in Meta v Bundeskartellamt (July 2023), and the importance of the Digital Markets Act. The panel was convened by Kristof Zetenyi (Vice-President at Analysis Group) and chaired by Bill Wu (Partner at McMillan). On the panel sat Ruomeng Cui (Associate Professor at Emory University; Amazon Scholar) and Alden Abbott (Senior Research Fellow at George Mason University), each contributing their distinct perspectives.

With close to 4,000 attendees, the ABA Spring Meeting was also a great opportunity to exchange views with other non-governmental advisors within the International Competition Network, including Kala Anandarajah (Singapore), Joaquim Caimoto Duarte (Portugal), Umang Khandelwal (Canada), Marcel Meinhardt (Switzerland), and Omar Wakil (Canada).
