On 10 April 2025, the Université the Montréal and the University of Ghent convened a Colloquium entitled “Au-delà du battage médiatique : Les incidences juridiques de l’IA en entreprise”. In a panel on AI and competition law, Vicky Robertson discussed how EU competition law addresses the collection of big data and the use of AI tools that target individual users. She focused on the CJEU’s preliminary ruling in Meta v Bundeskartellamt (July 2023) and on the influence of digital regulation on EU competition law. The panel, chaired by Stéphane Rousseau (Université de Montréal) also included Pierre Larouche (Université de Montréal) and Dominic Thérien (McCarthy Tétrault).
